Press Release Author = Arlene Wites/Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale

Industry = Advertising

Press Release Summary = Wanted! Experience Necessary! You just graduated college, now
you're ready for your first job and you get rejected because you don't have enough
work experience. Sound familiar? Even for the most talented advertising and design
graduates getting a job in the real world can be challenging.

Press Release Body = The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale is preparing students to
jump start their careers by offering opportunitites to work of real world projects.

"Employers can require years of experience just to grant an interview. But how do
you get that experience when nobody will give you a chance to begin with?" says
award-winning Art Director Christine David, Program Chair for the Advertising,
Graphic Design and Honor program at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Her
professional instinct and passion for education energized her to offer students a
chance to gain invaluable real-world design experience while they were completing
their degree in the Honors Program within the curriculum.

Student's learn a comprehensive range of skills necessary to work or run an
advertising agency and serve the needs of clients including Ronald McDonald House,
Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, Truly Nolen, Boys and Girls
Club of Broward, Shoes for the Soul, Wildlife Refuge Center, Kids in Distress, and
more. Projects have run the gamut from developing and executing advertising and
marketing campaigns, annual reports, corporate identity, package design packages,
and more.

"Our clients can go to any agency and there are some world-class agencies here in
South Florida," continues David. "the Honors Program has won numerous advertising
awards and has been featured in design publications. The word's getting out that our
Honor's Program students produce quality design, on time. Our Honors students are
reaping enormous benefits. All of them are graduating with a minimum of six months,
sometimes a full year, of real-world experience on their resumés and getting
professional detailed printed pieces to put in their portfolios. And, most
important, they're getting good jobs, at places like Crispin Porter Bogusky, Saatchi
and Saatchi, McCann Erickson, BBDO, J. Walter Thompson. Plus-and this is especially
rewarding for me-I have three students who've actually started their own agencies."

In addition to Advertising and Graphic Design, The Art Institute of Fort
Lauderdale's programs include Broadcasting, Culinary Arts, Media Arts & Animation,
Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Game
Art & Design, Illustration, Industrial Design, Interactive Media & Design, Interior
Design, Photography, Visual Effects & Motion Graphics, Video Production, and Yacht &
